This is an example of spatial tiling using curved surfaces. It is comparable with “Fish Scale” tiling in 2D. Here, the curving surfaces are cut from an Elliptical Paraboloid. The unit cell can be seen as an altered Rhombic Dodecahedron. Any number of variants are possible by changing proportions and using sections of other curving surfaces, such as spheres.
